Getting Support: Middle and High School

One of the single largest factors for a person considering suicide is LACK OF A CONNECTION to other people – particularly to  peers who may be experiencing similar issues and challenges.

Don’t be ashamed or embarrassed to ask or look for help. Everyone has problems they can not solve on their own.  Talking to peers can be the first step toward solving your problems and making positive decisions.

Learn to cope. Learn to be connected. There are peer leadership programs within your school and community that are available to help.

  • Tell someone you trust
  • Be around people who are caring and positive
  • Ask someone to help you figure out what to do
  • Work with a counselor
  • Work with a TRUSTED ADULT
