Safe Place is RI's only bereavement support group of its kind.

If you have experienced the death by suicide of a family member or friend, there's a Safe Place to talk each Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Established in September of 1981, Safe Place provides an atmosphere of acceptance for exploring feelings not understood by others and gives you an opportunity to look at your future with a little more hope. Share thoughts and emotions in a supportive and caring environment.

Safe Place also offers a yearly remembrance gathering for all those who have lost a loved one by suicide.

To learn more about Safe Place and being a survivor, request a copy of: Left Behind by Suicide, Providence Journal, Lifestyles, August 26, 2001 from our office at P.O. Box 9086, Providence, RI 02940 or call (401) 272-4243.

If you are unable to attend Safe Place, but just need to talk, call our hotline/listening line at (401) 272-4044 or (800) 365-4044.
